Back to Stanley Cup Playoff talk…
The Dallas Stars upset the Vegas Golden Knight — and the hockey world for that matter — in the Western Conference Finals 4-1.
And while the Dallas Stars are a great story and give us multiple reasons to root for them to win the Stanley Cup, big hats off to their journeyman goaltender, Anton Khudobin who’s been an absolute stud these playoffs.
Do you think Dallas’ front office will re-sign head coach Rick Bowness to an extension? You would think, right?!
The New York Islanders put up a better fight in the Eastern Conference Finals than the Golden Knights out West but ultimately lost game 6 in overtime to the Tampa Bay Lightning, losing the series 4-2.
It was a hard-fought series with the Islanders forcing game 6 by winning game 5 in double overtime, off the stick of Jordan Eberle.
Not only was Lee’s feed and Eberle’s finish sick, but the goal call by the Islanders’ broadcast team was pretty electric!
Which was maybe as epic as the Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov’s goal celebration while meeting his team in the far end!
But nothing was to stop the Tampa Bay Lightning en route to their third appearance to the Stanley Cup Finals in franchise history — first since losing to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2015.
